Your Physiotherapy Questions, Answered

We carry out extensive checks to ensure that all physiotherapists in our group are registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP).

If you need to cancel or reschedule your physiotherapy session for any reason, you can do so by calling the clinic directly.

We take all patient feedback very seriously. If for any reason you are not fully satisfied with your treatment session or indeed if you have positive feedback, we want to hear from you.

Please either call us on 01244 303469 or email us on info@nationwidephysio.co.uk.

Payments are through the Nationwide Physio website using Stripe, we will then contact the clinic to contact you to make your first appointment.  Please see our terms and conditions for full details.

Your physiotherapist will ask you to tell them as much as you can about your issues. They will need to assess you and look at the area of your body causing your problems, so you should be prepared to remove some clothing if necessary.

Your physiotherapist will explain what your issue or injury is likely to be and the ways that they can help to treat the problem. There may be some time for treatment at the end of the session, but this will depend on your condition.

In rare cases, the physiotherapist may be unable to treat you, and you may need to be referred to a specialist. For example, if you have a broken bone or need surgery.

We ensure that all of the clinics on our extensive national panel uphold the highest standards of safety and take our responsibilities as a healthcare provider seriously.

At the start of every appointment, your physiotherapist will ask if there have been any changes since your last visit.

Most of your appointment will be spent treating you.

Depending on your personalised treatment plan, this may mean your physiotherapist using techniques such as soft tissue massage or helping you to build strength through exercise therapy.

Your physiotherapist may also use some of your appointment to talk to you about your goals and objectives, provide education and advice, and make notes on your patient file.

Physiotherapists sometimes use manual therapy, but for some conditions it isn’t always the most appropriate or effective treatment option.

Your physiotherapist will create a treatment plan that is tailored to your specific condition and needs, choosing treatment based on clinical evidence and what will achieve the best long-term results.

If you want a particular type of treatment during your appointment, speak to your physiotherapist. They can explain their evidence-based approach and why other techniques may be more clinically appropriate.

Your appointments will last up to 30 minutes, including time for discussion, treatment, taking notes and answering any questions you may have.

The type of treatment you receive will vary depending on your own personal circumstances, injury or condition.

If your treatment includes manual therapy techniques your physiotherapist will provide you with advice about managing any post-therapeutic effects, which may include avoiding any strenuous activity and applying ice to the area.

Your physiotherapist will give you exercises and guidance to follow at home. Taking an active role in your recovery and adhering to your exercise plan in-between appointments will help you achieve the best results possible.

When attending a physiotherapy appointment , it’s important to wear comfortable clothing that allows for a full range of movement. Here are some tips on what to wear to your physiotherapy appointment:

  1. Wear loose-fitting clothing that allows you to move freely.
  2. Wear comfortable, supportive shoes that are suitable for physical activity.
  3. Avoid jewellery or other accessories that can get in the way or be uncomfortable during your session.
  4. Bring any necessary equipment or braces, such as a knee brace.
  5. Dress appropriately for the weather.

You will need to speak to the clinic about this when you make your booking.
